Sting is a talented guy known for a lot of things: singer, songwriter, musician, actor, author, environmental and human rights activist, and all around Renaissance man embracing the lute. Now he can add the odd occupation of farmer to the list after opening a store called Tenuta il Palagio on his estate in Tuscany to sell produce grown organically on his own land, including wine, olive oil, honey and salami. The wine, olive oil and honey make perfect sense and blend nicely with Sting’s image, especially the honey from bees that . . . well you know . . . sting. But salami? It immediately begs for some tantric joke that I wouldn’t dare offer up and definitely contradicts the ethical commitment to a vegetarian diet that Sting has espoused in the past. Maybe he’s had a change of heart? So what the heck! If you’re lucky enough to be in the Tuscan region around Florence, stop by to sample food grown from Sting’s own backyard. I’m putting the honey and wine on my bucket list for sure, but I think I’ll pass on the salami.

Hi,
How can I get invited to Sting and Trudie’s Il Palagio Villa or anywhere of their initiatives.
The whole family is a big fan of Sting and we will be there in Tuscany this summer.
thank you.
A trip to Tuscany sounds splendid, and certainly you can visit the Il Palagio farm and shop to buy some wine, olive oil and honey! Enjoy your visit and please let me know about it afterwards! Following are some directions and info posted by another Sting fan who has visited Il Palagio previously. I hope this will be helpful for your trip, although the info is not mine so I cannot verify it is all correct. There is an email address, so you may want to email to confirm hours the shop is open and days. Enjoy!
Keep out from the motorway to FIRENZE INCISA FIGLINE VALDARNO then follow Figline . When you are in Figline fallow GREVE direction.
After about 5 km ,15 minutes you will find a small church, turn right then turn right again(follow the road).
After about 400 meters you’ll find the small house (pale yellow colors) which sells Sting’s products.
Hours : 10 am to 12 and 3 to 7 pm.
A young girl is there and the shop is selling oil, wine (2 different kinds), honey and just a few salami and vegetables and only blackberry fruits.
They don t have a web site but they have an e mail address ilpalagio@tiscalinet.it
