Band Members for Sting Symphonicity Tour 2010

Everyone knows that Sting is touring with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra by now, but what about the rest of the musicians currently performing with him? Here is some information on each of the members of Sting’s accomplished and worldly band along for the ride on the Symphonicity Tour.

Dominic Miller – Argentinean guitarist and longtime Sting songwriting collaborator and touring partner featured on eight Sting albums since The Soul Cages in 1991. As a solo artist, Dominic has also recorded eight albums of his own. Learn more about him on his website or follow him on Twitter.

David Cossin –percussionist noted for work with experimental music and member of the Bang On A Can All-Stars. He has invented several new instruments, including the Amplified Cardboard Tube used during “Why Should I Cry For You?” on the Symphonicity Tour. Ira Colemanjazz bassist born in Sweden and raised in France who has worked with acclaimed musicians such as Herbie Hancock and Branford Marsalis.

Jo Lawry – Australian jazz vocalist who released her debut album entitled I Want to Be Happy in 2008. She also appears as a vocalist on Sting’s live 2009 DVD A Winter’s Night … Live From Durham Cathedral. Learn more about Jo on Message In a Bloggle or at her website.

Rhani Krija – the Symphonicity lineup changed in early June 2010 with the late addition of this Moroccan percussionist who has worked and toured with Sting previously for Sacred Love.
