Jamie Cullum stormed the Roberts Orpheum Theater stage in St. Louis on March 14, 2010 like a spring tornado blowing across the midwestern prairie, showcasing his unique musical blend of jazz and pop through an intense two-hour set of nineteen songs from his new album The Pursuit as well as older material. This is the second time I’ve seen Jamie Cullum live in concert, and I had the best seats in the house front and center for an absolutely mesmerizing performance by this personable dynamo of energy. His voice and the band sounded fantastic, and he playfully interacted with the audience all night. I’m always amazed at his use of the piano not only as a keyboard, but also as percussion, a stringed instrument and a jumping platform.
