Sting will be performing at Durham Cathedral in Durham, England on September 18, 2009 in support of his soon to be released new album “If On A Winter’s Night“. Durham Cathedral is located in northeastern England not far from Sting’s hometown of Newcastle. The details of the performance have yet to be released, however it will be recorded, possibly for DVD release. Durham Cathedral’s website is already posting alerts about the film shoot and further official news with more details should be released very shortly, including information about whether this event is a private affair or if public tickets will be available.
What I wouldn’t give to be at this performance! I’m sure it will be an intimate and amazing show in a historic and awe- inspiring setting. Durham Cathedral has also been used as a setting for several of the Harry Potter movies for both interior and exterior views of Hogwarts.
