My firstborn child is thirteen years old today. And she told me that she would like to be addressed as a “pre-adult” instead of a “teenager”! That gave me a good laugh, and when I recovered from her request I told her that if I was going to consider her a “pre-adult” she would need to have more chores and responsiblities associated with someone of that title. So she told me to forget it and just call her a teenager.
Will I make it through her teen years? Only time will tell I guess, but I have another daughter heading into her teenage years in just three years, so I better get used to it.
