The Creative Coalition has announced their Gala Inaugural Ball will feature performances by Sting, Elvis Costello and Sam Moore on January 20, 2008. Obviously, I’d love to be there but the ticket prices pretty much put it out of reach for me! The Platinum package was a mere $100,000 and the puny Bronze Package went for $10,000! It’s sold out too, so I guess I’ll have to skip this one and console myself knowing that I’ve already seen Sting perform in Washington D.C. in 2004 at the Warner Theatre during my Sacred Love east coast tour spree.
Call me crazy, but I’m wondering why this ball doesn’t have more American artists performing for the inauguration of the President of the United States? Looks to me like the Brits are invading this affair. Thank goodness Sam Moore is performing that night, but where is Bruce Springsteen when we need him?
