The 7th grade girls at Blessed Sacrament School in Springfield, Illinois won the IESA Class 7-2A basketball championship last night in Mt. Pulaski, beating Bloomington Holy Trinity with a final score of 48-32. The girls had the perfect season and ended winning 27 games total with no losses. Here is a recap from IESA on the game: Springfield Blessed Sacrament jumped out to a an early lead and Bloomington Holy Trinity could not make up the deficit. Blessed Sacrament shooters were hot tonight scoring double digits in each quarter. Leading scorer for the game was #5 Kate Healy with 15 points. #25 Lydia Nelson followed with 13 points. Bloomington Holy Trinity leading scorers were #11 Molly McGraw and #23 Caroline Holt both with 11 points for the game. Springfield Blessed Sacrament ends the season undefeated with a record of 27-0. Congratulations to both teams!
