Yesterday was a bad day to drive in downtown Springfield, Illinois. My 7-minute average commute to my workplace downtown took around 25 minutes yesterday due to all the road work and street and lane closings. Every detour I was forced to take made matters worse for me! I had been in St. Louis just the day before and traffic there was a breeze as compared to little old Springfield, Illinois. Apparently many people were ticked off about the whole situation. I took the extra time in my car to turn up the volume and enjoy some great music. The State Journal Register reported on the problem in the newspaper this morning. Hope all the roadwork is done soon, but until I’m sure, I’ll bring along some extra CDs and pretend I live in the big city.
